This diploma thesis describes possible solutions of modern voice communication in a variety of business environments depending on the requirements, needs and pricing options, the complexity of the systems, compatibility with the existing telephone systems, the scope of coverage and capacity.
The third chapter describes the development of telephony and telephone systems from the modest beginnings through to the most advanced Internet Protocol (IP) communications systems, the latter being divided according to modernity, complexity, the use of additional services and applications.
The fourth chapter deals in greater detail with the development of wireless communications and with the technology of Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) as the basis for modern wireless communication. It depicts the basic characteristics of WLAN networks, the quality of service, network security, the existing standards as well as mere advantages and disadvantages of WLAN.
The fifth chapter describes various solutions to modern wireless voice communications in companies, namely Voice over WLAN (VoWLAN), IP DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications), Fixed–mobile Convergence (FMC) and some of the latest less business-like applications such as Skype and Viber. The transfer of voice is described in the above mentioned variety of technologies along with the advantages and disadvantages of each system.
The sixth section of the thesis presents some actual examples of use of modern wireless voice communication in different organizations and institutions, the results and findings of the analysis of individual solutions and possible updates.
