In my the thesis I have focused on education of speech therapists. It's main purpose is to present and compare different study programs of high education degress in logopedics at universities in three different countries: Slovenia, Belgium and Portugal.
In the theoretical part I introduced the profession of speech and language therapist, focusing specifically on the knowledge and competences, which are necessary for the profession of speech therapist. I also presented Bolonia reform of the study in selected countries.
In the comparison study for all mentioned countries, I compared data on the duration of study, the credit system, the subjects, the number of hours dedicated to lectures, tutorials, seminars, clinical exercises, the mobility of students and post-graduate education.
I observed what are the differences and similarities between studying Speech and Language Therapy in these countries, and which of the three countries in their curricula contain a number of recommendations, which are advised by the European Association of speech therapy – CPLOL.
The results of the comparison indicate some similarities regarding education systems of speech therapists in Slovenia, Belgium and Portugal, especially in contents, biomedical sciences and scientific research. There are also areas where the education systems greatly differ, for example in practical training and postgraduate studies.
