Abstract
V prvem delu so predstavljene teoretične osnove izkoriščanja vetrne energije in podane splošne vetrovne razmere v Sloveniji.

Title:
Profitability of small power plant with vertical wind turbine
Abstract:
In this diploma thesis a performance of 5kW vertical wind turbine was simulated under a given wind conditions for three locations in Slovenia. In the first part a theoretical basics of wind energy harvesting and general wind conditions for Slovenia are presented. The second part is dedicated to the concept of vertical wind turbine and to simulations of it's operation with actual data about wind as input. The result of the simulations is generated electrical energy for a certain location in a certain period of time which is then evaluated given the current prices of generated electrical energy. Finally an economical feasibility of installing such a wind turbine is made based on estimated yearly income it generates.
