Abstract
Pojav vsaj v anglosaških deželah doživlja razmah, medtem ko so podatki NUK-a pokazali, da slovensko samozaložništvo v zadnjih letih ni doživelo večjih sprememb.

Abstract:
Definition of Self-Publishing is quite a problem, but for sure it is a way of book publishing, in which author publishes his own book alone, rather than with a traditional publisher. The phenomenon is experiencing extraordinary growth in Anglo-Saxon world, whereas the data of Slovenian national library shows that Slovenian Self-Publishing has not experienced any noticeable changes. The author of this work has executed more case studies, interviews and participant observation, and therefore she found out, that relatively successful cases in Slovenia and around the world have one thing in common: strong internet marketing. Poorly developed e-book market along with unfavourable conditions of book store sales could be the reason for obvious stagnation of Slovenian Self-Publishing.
