Abstract
Porast širokopasovnih tehnologij je v zadnjem času viden predvsem na področju telekomunikacij in daljinskega zaznavanja. Potrebe po tovrstnih aplikacijah so sprožile razvoj na področju anten, ki omogočajo delovanje v širšem frekvenčnem spektru. Leta 2002 je agencija FCC uveljavila širokopasovni standard UWB (angl. ultra-wideband), ki je veljaven v frekvenčnem pasu od 3,1 GHz do 10,6 GHz. Izdelava antene za omenjeni frekvenčni pas je glavni cilj tega dela. Pričujoče diplomsko delo se najprej posveti obrazložitvi planarnih anten z eksponentno krivuljo ter njihovim lastnostim. V to družino spada tudi podrobneje predstavljena Vivaldi-eva antena z značilnim vzbujanjem ter obliko sevalne reže. Sledi predstavitev simulacijskega okolja in modela antene, nakar so predstavljeni rezultati simulacij ter meritev optimizirane antene. Obseg diplomskega dela zajema zasnovo, simulacijo, izdelavo in meritve prototipov. Najustreznejši prototip je nato izbran za izdelavo skupine dveh anten z Wilkinson-ovim delilnikom moči.

Title:Design and Fabrication of Multi-Octave Frequency Coverage Vivaldi Antenna
Abstract:
Nowadays, the increasing use of wideband technologies is the most evident in the field of telecommunications and remote sensing. The demands for such applications have brought about the development of antennas which can operate in broad frequency spectrum. In 2002, the UWB (ultra-wideband) standard in the range between 3.1 GHz and 10.6 GHz was approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Production of antenna for this frequency range was the main goal of this work. This work focuses on an explanation of the planar antennas with exponential tapers and an investigation of their properties. Furthermore, following the computer simulation environment presented along with the antenna model, the simulation results and the measurement of the optimized antenna are given. The scope of this work includes the concept, simulations, production and the measurements of the proposed antenna. The most suitable prototype of the antenna is then used in the antenna array with two elements whose connection is established with the Wilkinson power divider.
