Abstract
Pred približno 3,5 milijarde let se je pojavilo življenje: najstarejši fosilizirani mikroorganizem so našli v zahodni Avstraliji v skalnih formacijah, ki so jim lahko določili starost. Tako se je rodilo na Zemlji življenje, ki ima lastnosti, da se lahko razmnožuje in prenaša genetske informacije iz generacije v generacijo.
