Abstract
Avtor zagovarja tezo, da je medijske in kulturne študije treba razširiti na področje analize subjektivnih značilnosti kulturne proizvodnje, torej analize posameznikov, zaposlenih v kulturnih industrijah in množičnih medijih, ki v veliki meri določajo obliko, vsebino in pomen kulturnih izdelkov. V članku poskuša odgovoriti na vprašanje, kako danes obravnavati kulturne posrednike, torej kreativne delavce v procesih produkcije, reprodukcije in diseminacije simbolnih dobrin. Kulturne posrednike so v zgodnejših analizah obravnavali kot razredno frakcijo, ki naj bi bila odgovorna za hitro širjenje potrošniškegakapitalizma in za vzpon postmodernih življenjskih stilov, avtor pa v luči sodobnejših kritik obravnav kulturnih posrednikov opozarja na pasti pretirane homogenizacije te družbene skupine. Avtor meni, da so kulturni posredniki izredno heterogena poklicna skupina, katere skupni imenovalec bi danes težko našli v razrednem habitusu, zato jih je treba obravnavati v skladu z njihovimi specifičnimi vlogami, vrednotami ter delovnimi in potrošniškimi navadami v posameznih proizvodnih kulturah.

Title:Cultural intermediaries in the production of culture
Abstract:
The author supports the thesis that media and cultural studies should embrace the analysis of subjective characteristics of cultural production, that is, the analysis of individuals employed in cultural industries and mass media, who significantly determine the form and content of cultural products. The article addresses the question of how to approach cultural intermediaries, or contemporary creative workers in the (re)production cycles of symbolic goods. In earlier studies cultural intermediaries were regarded as part of a class responsible for the quick expansion of consumer capitalism and the rise of postmodern life-styles. Today, cultural intermediaries, according to the author, are a highly heterogeneous professional group, whose common denominator could hardly be found in a class habitus. Therefore, cultural intermediaries should be studied in accordance with their specific roles, values, and working and consumer habits in each culture of production.
