Abstract
Namen diplomskega dela je prikazati trenutno stanje na področju mobilnih omrežij in opisati nekatere novosti na storitvenem nivoju. Mobilna omrežja za uporabnike, ki imajo ustrezne mobilne naprave, omogočajo najhitrejši dostop do osnovnih informacij. Z vedno bolj naprednimi mobilnimi napravami lahko dostopamo tudi do svetovnega spleta in drugih, predvsem multimedijskih storitev. Trenutno je pri tehnologiji LTE Broadcast poudarek na prenosu video vsebin, kot sta video na zahtevo in televizija v živo. Tehnologija poleg tega ponuja še veliko drugih možnih izzivov za operaterje, tudi prenos nekaterih storitev iz fiksnih v mobilna omrežja. V diplomskem delu sem se na začetku posvetil opisu omrežja na fizičnem nivoju, sledi opis nekaterih tehnologij, ki so v uporabi v večini predvsem za čim boljšo izrabo omrežnih virov. Glavni del predstavlja predstavitev tehnologije LTE Broadcast, ki pomeni način posredovanja vsebin v smeri proti uporabniku. Na koncu sledi še praktični del, ki predstavlja primer dostopa do fiksnih storitev preko omrežja LTE.

Title:Video and broadcast services in LTE
Abstract:
The purpose of the thesis was to review current state of mobile networks and to describe some innovations on the service level. For users with appropriate equipment mobile networks represent the main access to information. With mobile devices getting more and more advanced, users can browse internet as well and gain access to other contents, above all multimedia services. For the time being, LTE Broadcast technology focuses on downloading video content, in particular video on demand and live television. Besides, technology offers more possible challenges for mobile operators, among other transfer of certain services from fixed to mobile networks. In the beginning of my thesis, I described physical layer of the LTE network. After that, some technologies mostly designed for better output of network resources are described. The main part is about LTE Broadcast, which is a way to bring the content to the users. At the end of the thesis comes an example of using LTE network for fixed services access (Triple Play).
