Abstract

Title:The influence of distance for commuting in urban centres in Slovenia
Abstract:
In the Bachelor thesis we analyzed the influence of distance for commuting in urban centres in Slovenia between 2000 and 2010. The influence of distance was analyzed by estimation of distance-decay functions’ parameters as suggested by Drobne and Lakner (2014). We conducted the analysis in the Wolfram Mathematica 10.2. We performed the parameters of eight functions that best fitted the data. Determination coefficient were evaluated as well. Results are shown in table forms for all urban centers in Slovenia and graphically for regional centers of Slovenia. Urban centers in Slovenia are defined by the Strategy of spatial development of Slovenia (Strategija prostorskega razvoja Slovenije) (2004). The dynamics of impact of commuting distance for 2000–2012 was estimated using a trend model in Microsoft Excel 2013.
