Abstract

Title:Photo process in graphic – cyanotype
Abstract:
In my thesis, I explore an old photographic technique, best known for its distinctive blue color, which earned it the name cyanotype and also caused it to mostly sink into oblivion at the very beginning of its existence. In the beginning of my work, I make a brief survey of the history of photography, where I introduce some of the most important discoveries and techniques that brought photography to what it is today. What follows is mostly a presentation of the cyanotype technique itself, starting with the inventor of the technique and its most noticeable artist, who widely used the technique in most of her extensive work. I continue with some technical details of cyanotype and the systematic process of manufacturing such art at the end of the theoretical part. In the practical-art part, I show the exhibition of my work in the photogram technique. I conclude my thesis with the pedagogical-art part, as an example of how to include the cyanotype technique in elementary schools as a special part of art classes.
