Abstract
iBeacon tehnologija, ki za delovanje uporablja BLE, omogoca, da nacrtujemo mobilne aplikacije na osnovi bližine. Zanima nas, kako lahko koncept bližine integriramo v razvoj mobilnih aplikacij. V diplomskem delu si najprej podrobneje ogledamo iBeacon tehnologijo, njeni funkciji spremljanje in odkrivanje, koncepta bližine in lokacije ter konfiguracijo iBeaconov. Nato analiziramo dve obstojeci iBeacon aplikaciji, pregledamo razlicne primere uporabe in jih razdelimo v tri širše skupine. Predstavimo možnosti postavitve in vzdrževanja velikega števila iBeaconov. Na koncu želimo podati primer Android in iOS mobilne aplikacije, ki uporablja iBeacon tehnologijo za prikazovanje podatkov o pacientu. Na podlagi razvoja aplikacij primerjamo razvoj iBeacon mobilnih aplikacij glede na platformo. Na koncu še analiziramo razviti aplikaciji z uporabo SWOT analize.

Title:iBeacon technology in the development of mobile applications
Abstract:
iBeacon technology, made possible by BLE, enables mobile application developers to base their applications on proximity. We would like to know how proximity can be integrated in the development of mobile applications. In the thesis we take a deeper look at iBeacon technology where monitoring and ranging are examined and the differences between location and proximity explained. Available options used for the configuration of iBeacons are also presented. Then two existing iBeacon applications are analyzed. Following that different use cases are listed and sorted into three groups. Large scale iBeacon deployment options are presented and examined. Lastly an Android and an iOS application which use iBeacon technology for displaying patient data are developed. A comparison between the development of iBeacon applications on both platforms is made based on the development of the applications. At the end the developed application are analyzed with the use of a SWOT analysis.
