Abstract
Kvalitetna postavitev gradiva je ena izmed prioritet vsake knjižnice. V Sloveniji je večini knjižnic skupna UDK postavitev. Z največjimi problemi pri njeni uporabi se srečujejo najmlajši uporabniki knjižnic - otroci. Vrstilci sistema UDK so za otroke prezapleteni, zato bi bilo potrebno postavitev gradiva preoblikovati na otrokom prijazen način. V Mestni knjižnici Ljubljana so na oddelku za mladino leta 2010 oblikovali otrokom prilagojeno postavitev gradiva le na področju leposlovja, strokovno gradivo je ostalo razporejeno po prilagojenih UDK vrstilcih. V magistrskem delu smo želeli ugotoviti, kako uspešni so bili snovalci postavitve. Pri raziskovanju smo uporabili tri raziskovalne metode: klasični vprašalnik in vprašalnik po zgledu orodja LibQUAL+. Ker vprašalnik LibQUAL+ pri otrocih še ni bil uporabljen ga je bilo potrebno močno prilagoditi. Nazadnje smo uporabili še metodo opazovanja. Pokazalo se je, da je postavitev gradiva po bralnih predpostavkah otrokom bolj prijazna, pregledna in enostavna za uporabo. Kljub temu so ocene pokazale, da bo potrebno nekatere dele izboljšati in prilagoditi.

Title:Evaluation of te shelving system in the youth section
Abstract:
Effective shelving of materials is one of the priorities of every library. Most libraries in Slovenia use a common UDC shelving system. Using this system is most challenging for the youngest library users, children. UDC shelfmarks are too complicated for children, therefore, classification should be reorganized in a child friendly manner. In Ljubljana city library shelving of materials in the youth section has been redesigned in 2010. Adjustments have been made in fiction section, while nonfiction is classified by UDC. In this master's thesis we wanted to determine how successful were the designers of new shelving system.. Three research methods were used: classic questionnaire, questionnaire based on LibQUAL+ and observation. The LibQUAL+ questionnaire has not been used on children, therefore, it needed to be adjusted so that they could complete the survey. It has been shown that the new shelving system by reading perspectives is more child-friendly, transparent and easy to use. Nevertheless, the assessment showed that some parts will have to be improved and adapted.
