The aim of the graduation thesis was to find out if we can clearly distinguish between the species Anthericum ramosum and Anthericum liliago by a still unverified method of comparison of measurements of the photos of plants of the genus Anthericum, obtained online. The survey comprised 226 photos, 216 available on the internet and 10 original. The number of measurements carried out on each photo was 21. On the basis of 144 photos to which the species could unambiguously be determined, 9 characters turned out to be applicable for distinguishing. Multivariate analysis, including 6 measuring characters and covering 90 photos, yielded good results, namely two clearly distinct groups. One of them consisted of representatives of the species A. ramosum, and the other one of the species A. liliago. In the survey we checked also correctness of determination of species on the web. From 144 photos to which we could unambiguoulsy determine the species, we changed the determination only to 6,9 % plant from photos. At other photos (36,3 %) we could confirm that it was the genus Anthericum, but we could not unambiguously determine the species. We found out also that the geographical was consistent with the data about distribution of species referred to in the literature reviewed.
