The article discusses symbiotic fungi from galleries of the striped bark beetle Xyloterus lineatus (Trypodendron lineatum) 01. (Coleoptera, Scolytidae) found in spruce logs laying at the timber storage yard of Tovarna celuloze in papirja, Goričane. In laboratory conditions the following fungi were isolated and determined: Triclwderma harzianum Rifai, Pichia anomale (Hansen) Kurzman, Ophiostoma (= Ceratocystis) piceae (graphium anamorph) and fungi closely similar to Ophiostoma (= Ceratocystis) araucariae (anamorph). The symbiosis between scolytid ambrosia beetles and their symbiotic fungi is shortly described.
