The results of various methods as to the establishing of the methods of the arrangement of trees in forests are being analysed. Two plots in the Rajhenavski Rog virgin forest in Kočevje, where the forest is in the optimal developmental phase, have been chosen as the object of the investigation. Apart from the methods known from the literature, a new method for the establishing of the arrangement way, which is based on the average distances between a tree and its three next neighbouring trees, and of the standard deviations of these distances
bas been applied. This method, which is extremely appropriate for such forest analyses, bas another advantage. It is simple, relatively quick and not expensive and it offers test possibilities.
