Abstract
V diplomskim delu obravnavam pristope in strategije, ki jih učitelji matematike in specialni pedagogi uporabljajo ob izvajanju dodatne strokovne pomoči pri individualnem delu z učenci z učnimi težavami pri algebri. V teoretičnem delu so opredeljene splošne in specifične učne težave. Predstavljen je tudi petstopenjski model izvajanja strokovne pomoči v osnovnih šolah. V nadaljevanju sledi opis poučevalnih strategij, ki so primerne za poučevanje učencev z učnimi težavami na področju algebre, še posebej pri nudenju individualne pomoči. Delo sem zaključila z empirično raziskavo, ki sem jo izvedla kot študijo primera. Raziskala sem, kako izvajata individualno učno pomoč pri algebrajski vsebini z učencem z učnimi težavami pri matematiki strokovni delavki dveh različnih profilov: učiteljica matematike in specialna pedagoginja. Analiza je pokazala, da je šlo za dva konsistentna, a različna pristopa. Pri načrtovanju pomoči je tako potrebno premišljeno izbirati med pristopoma, posebej pomembno pa je pri nudenju individualne učne pomoči sodelovanje med učiteljem matematike in strokovnimi pedagoškimi delavci, ki so posebej usposobljeni za delo z učenci z učnimi težavami.

Title:Individual instructional support in algebra
Abstract:
In the diploma thesis I consider various approaches and strategies, used by mathematics teachers and special educators, when they are working with pupils with learning difficulties in algebra, especially when providing individual assistance. In the theoretical part I describe the general and specific learning difficulties. I present the five-step model of assistance to pupils with learning difficulties that is implementation in the Slovenian elementary schools. Next, I describe some teaching strategies that are suitable for teaching algebra, especially when working individually with students with learning difficulties. The experimental part of the thesis consists of a case studyof two experts – a mathematics teacher and a special needs educator – that provide individual assistance to a student on an algebraic topic. The analysis revealed that the mathematics teacher and the speacial educator used two consistent but different approaches. When planning assistance for a student with learning difficulties it should be considered which type of help suits better. In any case, there is a strong need for an intense collaboration between the mathematics teacher and special educators.
