Abstract
Zdi se, da je danes ponovno aktualna zamisel o prilagajanju osebnostne strukture prebivalstva prehodu iz socialističnega v tržno gospodarstvo.Standarizacija slovenske priredbe Hollandovega(1985)a vprašalnika Iskanje poklicne poti (SDS)v reprezentativnem vzorcu dijakov II. letnika slovenskih srednjih šol, omogoča primerjavo z ameriškimi srednješolci in delovno silo v sedemdesetih letih. Porazdelitve v obeh vzorcih so precej podobne.

Title:Should Slovenians re-orientated in the first Phase of Transition from Socialism to Capitalism?
Abstract:
Popular press often supports idea that population personality structure should be adapted to the transition from socialist to market economy. This cryfor the new man is sometimes similarly verbalized as in the late forties. Standardization of the Slovene version of Holland's (1985a) Self-Directed Search questionnaire (SDS) in a representative sample of Slovene high-school sophomores (253 boys and 275 girls) enables some interesting cross-cultural comparisons. Distributions of Slovene students by the first two letters of Holland's code are compared to roughly comparable data about force in the seventies. Taking methodological limitations into account, distributions in both samples are quite similar. Differences between male and female are important for career counselling in both countries. Holland's principle of asymetric distribution of types can be noticed in both countries, although some subtypes can be rare in one country, but quite frequent in the other. Some differences can be explained with the fact, that RIASCE hexagon seems more appropriate for Slovene data than the hypothetical RIASEC. Items supposed to measure Conventional and Enterprising type are hard to distinguishby students in the Slovene sample at this age and level of career experience. Slovene students aspire to Enterprising ossupations and feel to becompetent for them even more often tham American, who probably have more realistic information on limitations and professional standards.
