Opisan je nastanek rastnih napetosti, njihov škodljiv vpliv v stoječem drevju in lesu. Razpravlja se o gozdnogojitvenih vidikih nastanka rastnih napetosti. Podane so podrobnosti o nastanku rež, srčnih in krožnih razpok in krhkega srca. Naštete so možnosti preprečevanja pokanja in veženja zaradi sproščanja rastnih napetosti.

• Title: Growth stresses in trees and wood

Abstract

A description is given of the origin of growth stresses, adverse effects in standing trees and wood. Silvicultural aspects are discussed. Details are given of the ethiology of end splits, heart and ring checks and brittle heart. Possibilities to prevent checking and warping due to the growth stresses relaxation are listed.
