Abstract
Raziskovali smo vpliv kakovosti bukove hlodovine (Fagus sylvatica L) na zmogljivost, natančnost in gladkost žaganja na tračnem žagalnem stroju. Ugotovili smo, da kakovost minimalno vpliva na povprečno podajalno hitrost. Izmerili smo tudi debeline žaganic in ugotovili, da ni odstopanja debelin žaganic med različnimi kakovostnimi razredi: opazno pa je odstopanje debeline na sredini dolžin žaganic v vseh kakovostnih razredih. Gladkost površin je manjša pri hlodovini slabše kakovosti, resavost žaganic pa pogostejša pri deskah iz manj kakovostne hlodovine. Pojav resavosti je pogostejši pri žaganicah, izdelanih iz krivih hlodov.

Title:Impact of log quality on capacity of sawing on a band saw : graduation thesis - higher professional studies
Abstract:
We studied the impact of quality of beech timber (Fagus sylvatica L) on the capacity, accuracy and smoothness of sawing on a band saw. We found out that the quality of the logs had minimal impact on the average cutting velocity. We also measured the thickness of the boards and found out that there was no deviation of the thickness of the boards among different quality classes. We noticed the deviation of thickness at mid-length of the boards in all quality classes. In determining the smoothness of the surface of the boards we found out that the surface was less smooth with lower quality logs. We also established that the edge tear-out of the boards was more frequent in the boards of lower quality class. The phenomenon of edge tear-out was found more often with boards made of curved logs.
