Abstract
Z interesom širše javnosti za to tematiko se je razširilo spoznanje o procesu, katerega je raziskal ter poimenoval švedski psiholog dela Heinz Leymann. S formulacijo "šikaniranje na delovnem mestu" je opisoval situacijo, v kateri je posameznik v podjetju sistematično, pogosto ter skozi daljše časovno obdobje izpostavljen napadom sodelavcev in/ali nadrejenih (Leymann, 1995: 18). Napeta situacija na delovnem mestu pogosto vodi do tega, da prizadeti zaradi te psihične obremenitve zboli in mora zaradi tega zapustiti delovno mesto v podjetju. Pogosto jih šikaniranje prizadene do te mere, da se niso več sposobni vključiti v delovno okolje. Šikaniranje prizadene približno 4 do 9 % delovno aktivnega prebivalstva. Šikaniranje je prisoten tudi v Sloveniji.

Abstract:
Since the beginning of the last decade, the word is used to describe destiniesof people, who are exposed to abuse of co-workers and/or superiors. Heinz Leymann, a Swedish work psychologist, researched and named the process and with the broader interest for the subject, the public got aware of it. With the formulation "psycho terror on the workplace" he described the situation, in which an individual employee was systematically, often and during a longer time period, submitted to attacks from co-workers and/or superiors (Leymann, 1995, 18). The tense work-situation often causes illness and as a result an individual is forced to leave the job. Frequently he is no longer capable to re-enter the work environment. Mobbing afflicts from 4 to 9 % of work population and is present in Slovenia as well.
