In Slovenia there are small, middle and large timber firms that basically produce furniture for business premises, for kitchens and other purposes. We have studied the range and the use of drawing and constructional computer programmes in 30 of those Slovenian timber firms. The research was based on the analysis and estimation of the programme equipment status. The estimation was done on the basis of a questionnaire analysis. The questionnaire was sent to the firms by emails. They replied and gave their answers in 28.57 %. We can conclude that specialized computer programmes are poorly represented in Slovenian timber firms. We found out that 24.32 % of the firms do not use such programmes, and also that 60 % of the employees in those firms know only few of them. The most commonly used programme is MegaTischler, 16.23% of the firms use it. In all the investigated firms the constructional computer programmes are much used. Among them the AutoCad prevails; 73.33 % of the firms use it.
