Abstract
The main aim of the paper is to give an overview of the possible approaches for analyzing and understanding electoral contents in democratic environments. Doing so, the paper is structured into three main parts. In the first part, the paper gives an overview of the set of existing world-leading theoretical and methodological understandings of analyzing electoral contents in democratic systems. The second part of the paper specifically focuses on disclosing the general approaches and characteristics of the Central and Eastern European (CEE) electoral contents. In the third part of the paper, a special model for analyzing electoral contents is given on the basis of the strengths and weaknesses of the already existing knowledge. In this model, a system of potentially wider impacts that the contents of electoral campaigns can have for the candidates themselves, as well as the state and societal structures in general, are considered and emphasized. The paper is mostly structured as a literature review and specifically focuses on the electoral programs as a leading tool in which electoral contents during the campaigns are stated.
