EU rural development policy in the new programming period : challenges ahead and implications for acceding countries

Paper discusses about the main changes of the EU Rural Development policy and highlights the open issues that refer to its financing and implementation in the period 2007-2013. The paper presents the implications of the recent EU enlargement for implementation of rural development policy in countries aspring for EU membership.
