Abstract
Diplomska naloga zajema predstavitev ameriškega procesa projektiranja cest Context sensitive design. S primerjavo obeh primerov sem poizkušal predstaviti glavne razlike v tem, kako projektiramo ceste pri nas in kako v Združenih državah Amerike. Na koncu sem oba načina primerjal med sabo in jih pokomentiral.

Title:Sustainable design in rural and urban roads
Abstract:
The thesis features a presentation of American design process for roads called Context sensitive design. CSD is a process by which the US Department of Transportation has tried to solve the traffic problems by including a variety of competing concerns of different stakeholders in the process of planning, designing and constructing roads projects. The thesis covers the presentation of American and Slovenian road design standards, regulations and controls to compare the design of roads. On a practical example, I presented two ways of roads design. The first example is designed with Slovenian standards and regulations, and the other by the American principles of CSD. By comparing the two cases I tried to outline the major differences in the way we design roads, and how the roads are designed in the United States. In the end, I compared both examples to each other and commented them.
