The Diploma thesis adresses the overview of design rules given in SIST EN 50341 – 1 : 2013 and national annex for overhead electrical lines exceeding AC 45 kV based on SIST EN 50341 – 1 : 2002. In the thesis the folowing loads are analysed : wind load, ice load and tension force in the conductor wires. Standard SIST EN50341 – 1 : 2013 specifies general rules for determing loads and load combinations, while the national annex exactly defines possible combinations, which are needed to be included in design of transmission towers.
The structural analysis and design is demonstrated for the case of 400 kV supported tower. Internal static forces, which were used to design elements of transmission tower, were determined using global linear elastic analysis. Cross-section capacity and element stability are performed according to Eurocode standards SIST EN 1993.
