Abstract
V diplomski nalogi so za območje Ljubljanske Save in njene okolice v navezavi na mesto Ljubljana prikazane kvalitete prostora, ki jih je potrebno ohranjati, varovati ali ponovno vzpostaviti. Izpostavljeni so rečni biotopi ter območja z varstvenim reţimom. Del vsebine je namenjen spreminjanju struge Ljubljanske Save skozi čas, tako zaradi naravnih procesov kot zaradi posegov človeka. Obravnavana je tematika poplav, saj je obsavski prostor poplavno območje. Sava z okolico se uvršča v Mestno občino Ljubljana, kjer ima velik pomen za samo mesto, saj predstavlja zeleno zaledje mesta. Občinski prostorski načrti Mestne občine Ljubljana jasno opredeljujejo cilje in usmeritve za razvoj obravnavanega prostora, ki so podrobno opisani v tej nalogi. Poleg tega naloga zajema tudi degradirana območja, ki prostor razvrednotijo. Sem spadajo vrtički, divja odlagališča odpadkov in poselitev na varstvenih območjih, ki so pokazatelj konfliktnega odnosa med naravo in urbanizacijo. Obravnavano območje zajema 16,5 kilometrski odsek reke Save od Tacna do sotočja z Ljubljanico in Kamniško Bistrico. V tem delu Save je v planu izgradnja dela verige hidroelektrarn. V diplomski nalogi so bile pregledane možnosti in vplivi izgradnje hidroelektrarn na okolje. Ugotovitve kažejo, da hidroenergetski projekt bistveno zmanjša poplavno varnost. Ker se v prihodnosti pričakuje trend naraščanja padavin, je potrebno to dejstvo upoštevati in poiskati rešitve, ki bodo zmanjšale škodo katastrofalnih poplav. Projekt negativno vpliva tudi na habitatne tipe, nekatere povsem uniči. Na račun predvidenega dviga gladine podtalnice pa lahko pričakujemo celo pojav novih habitatov. S projektom pridobimo predvsem večje možnosti za ureditev rekreacijskih površin, kar izboljša kvaliteto mesta Ljubljana.

Title:
The analysis of Aquatic and Riparian Area of the Ljubljanska Sava River
Abstract:
The qualities of the area of Ljubljanska Sava River and its surroundings which are important to sustain, protect and reconstruct are shown in my diploma. River biotope and environmental regime areas are also described. Natural and artificial processes caused changing of Ljubljanska Sava River channel during time. Some of these changes are shown in my work. I wrote about floods since the Sava River area is often flooded. The Sava River with its surrounding is a part of Municipality of Ljubljana. As a green hinterland it is an important part of the municipality. The municipal spatial plans of Ljubljana that show clearly the goals and directions of the spatial development of the area are described in more details. I have also shown some degrading areas such as garden plots, illegal waste spots and constructions inside of the environmental regime areas. They are all evidence of the nature and urbanization conflicts. The 16,5 kilometres long part of the Sava River starts at Tacen and continues up to the confluence of Ljubljanica and Kamniška Bistrica River. In this part of the Sava River the constructing of the part of hydro power plants chain is in plans. All the possibilities for constructing of the hydro power plants were reviewed. I have also checked the influences of the hydro power plants on the environment. The analysis showed that hydro energetic project importantly reduces flood safeness. Since it is expected that precipitation is going to increase in the future, it is necessary to find the solutions how to decrease the flood damage. The project negatively affects the vegetation and animal diversity; some of the habitat types are destroyed. However, we can expect some new habitats since the groundwater will increase. By the project realization we gain more possibilities to make new recreational parks and other recreational facilities. It will improve the quality of the city of Ljubljana.
