When planning and maintaining the infrastructure one needs to take into account the increasing traffic loads as well as the decreasing financial means available.
The goal of this Master’s thesis is to establish whether it is possible to gather enough input data to perform a life cycle analysis in Slovenia. The thesis also deals with the selection of the appropriate models for modelling pavement deterioration and user costs due to road works.
Based on advantages and disadvantages of the models and on the accessibility of the input data, a model for pavement deterioration and user cost calculation is proposed.
With the selected models and input data, a life cycle cost analysis is performed on a pilot project, e.i. the reconstruction off the Motorway A3 section 0668 Gabrk – Sežana E, section 0669 Sežana E – Sežana W and Motorway A1 section 0156 Junction Gabrk.
