In my thesis, I wanted to present my own design of a system for managing and controlling a greenhouse. The purpose of the work is to introduce all phases of construction, from idea to execution. Likewise, the thesis describes hardware and software needed for greenhouse automation.
My greenhouse automation system is based on a controller, developed by Slovenian company PoLabs. Greenhouse conditions are measured by four different sensors (temperature, iluminance, air humidity and soil humidity), whose values are used to control the lights, the heater, the motor for opening the window and the electromagnetic valve.
The device is connected to a computer with a network cable via the RJ45 interface. The desired conditions are set by the user interface designed in C# programming environment, which allows observation of the current sensor values, switching between automatic and manual modes and switching individual devices on or off.
