Neformalno delo dnevnih migrantk v tržaških zasebnih gospodinjstvih starejših ljudi

V sledečem prispevku želimo ugotoviti, zakaj se ženske iz Slovenske Istre odločajo za opravljanje 'dela na črno' pri ostarelih v tržaških zasebnih gospodinjstvih. Zanima nas, kakšne oblike pomoči nudijo hišne pomočnice starim ljudem, kakšni so njihovi pogoji dela ter kako doživljajo tako obliko dela. Raziskavo smo opravili z osmimi ženskami različnih starosti in izobrazbe, uporabljena metoda zbiranja podatkov je bil globinski intervju. Rezultati so po večini potrdili pričakovanja, saj se je izkazalo, da so se opazovane ženske za tako obliko dela odločile zaradi visokega plačila in ugodnejših pogojev dela kot v Sloveniji. Najpogosteje nudena pomoč je instrumentalna opora. Sogovornice so ponosne, da opravljajo delo, ki ga družba sprejema kot manjvrednega.

Abstract

In the article we seek to find out why women from Slovenian Istria have been deciding to become careworkers for the elderly in private households in Trieste. We are interested in the forms of help housemaids have been offering to aged people, the working conditions and women's experiences. We performed the research with eight women of different ages and education. An in-depth interview was used as the method for collecting information. The results largely confirmed our expectations since it was shown that the women had decided on that kind of work due to the higher payment and better working conditions offered compared to Slovenia. Most often these housemaids offer instrumental support. And the women are proud that they carry out work perceived as inferior by society.
