Abstract

Abstract:
Successful performance in a broader sense can be defined as the aim of any activity of an individual or organization. This broader definition is composed of successful performance in narrow sense, i.e. effectiveness, and efficiency. In this context, effectiveness means achieving a defined aim, while efficiency means a way (economy) of achieving this aim. Effectiveness therefore means doing right things and efficiency means doing these things in a right way. We can conclude from his that a criterion for successful organization means doing right things in a right way. It is important to find out what the right things are, and which are the most efficient ways, especially in the environment that is defined by the so-called e-economy. Organization will be successful only with an appropriate system of measurement of successfulness, using appropriate measures within its context and taking into account characteristics of environment.
