The thesis addresses the development of a system for monitoring bacterial contamination in
metalworking fluids. The equipment used, system setup, and development of software for
the automated acquisition and analysis of dip slide culture media images are presented. The
procedure for capturing images during incubation and the processing of the acquired images,
in which bacterial colonies are detected and evaluated, are described. The developed system
enables monitoring of bacterial colony development, determining the number of colonies
and the percentage of culture medium coverage, as well as monitoring the incubation
temperature. The results are presented in tabular and graphical form, enabling the monitoring
of bacterial growth over time. The conclusion presents the findings regarding the operation
of the developed system and its applicability for monitoring bacterial contamination in
metalworking fluids.
