The master’s thesis examines the religious poetry of Ciril Bergles. In the theoretical introduction, it defines the concepts of religious, spiritual, and mystical poetry. It then presents Ciril Bergles and his poetic oeuvre. Through a detailed analysis of three poetry collections – Ta dom je večen (1984), Tvoja roka na mojem čelu (2006), and Lazar se odpravlja domov (2014) – the thesis outlines the characteristics of Bergles’s religious poetry. Particular attention is paid to the poet’s naming of God, the themes and motifs of his religious poems, poetic discourse, and references to the Bible. The thesis concludes with a comparison of the collections examined.
