Nasilje nad starejšimi kot družbeni problem: analiza izkušenj in institucionalnih odzivov

V magistrski nalogi obravnavam nasilje nad starejšimi, ki se kaže skozi klasične in specifične oblike nasilja. Predstavljeno je obdobje starosti in demografski trendi staranja prebivalstva ter vpliv starizma na nasilje nad starejšimi. Obravnavan je tudi družbeni in individualni odnos do starosti ter najpogostejši miti o starosti in starejših. Predstavljene so oblike nasilja nad starejšimi, možni dejavniki, ki lahko sprožijo nasilje nad starejšimi in posledice nasilja nad starejšimi. Obravnavane so tudi sistemske in zakonske rešitve ter primeri dobrih praks doma in v tujini. V empiričnem delu so po ključnih temah analizirane zgodbe starejših, ki jih je zbralo društvo Humanitarček, in intervjuji s koordinatorkami za preprečevanje nasilja na izbranih CSD-jih, sekretarko Skupnosti CSD Slovenije in predstavnico Srebrne niti.

• Title: Violence against older people as a social problem: analysis of experiences and institutional responses

Abstract

This master's thesis addresses violence against the elderly, manifesting in both classic and specific forms. It outlines the aging process, demographic trends regarding population aging, and the impact of ageism on violence against the elderly. Societal and individual attitudes toward aging, as well as common myths about aging and older people, are also examined. The thesis presents the various forms of violence against the elderly, potential triggers, and the consequences of such abuse. Furthermore, it discusses systemic and legal solutions, along with examples of best practices from both Slovenia and abroad. The empirical section analyzes, based on key themes, stories of elderly individuals collected by the Humanitarček association, as well as interviews with violence prevention coordinators from selected Social Work Centres (CSD), the secretary of the Community of Social Work Centres of Slovenia, and a representative of the Srebrna nit organization.
