Abstract
V tem delu obravnavam zaznavnost sevalcev gama iz zraka. Začnem s teoretičnim uvodom v ionizirajoče sevanje in nadaljujem z razlago in pregledom detektorjev sevanja. Predstavim radiološki monitoring in enote, ki so v Republiki Sloveniji zadolžene zanj, in nadaljujem s študijo zmogljivosti novega radiološkega detektorja enote ELME. Analiziram obnašanje napovednega modela pri različnih parametrih merjenja in napovedi primerjam z lastnimi meritvami in s podatki iz tujine. Analiziram vpliv omejevanja opazovanih energijskih kanalov spektra in komentiram omejitve merjenja zaradi izbire zrakoplova.

Title:
Development and validation of prediction models for estimating the capabilities of spectrometry systems for airbourne radiation detection.
Abstract:
In this master's thesis I study the detectability of gamma emitting radionuclides using airborne systems. I start with a theoretical introduction into ionising radiation and continue with an overview of radiation detection systems. I introduce radiation monitoring and the units responsible for it in the Republic of Slovenia. I continue with a study of the capabilities of the new ELME radiation detector. I analyse the behaviour of my prediction model at various measuring parameters and compare the predictions against my experimental measurements and foreign data. I analyse the effect of limiting the observed radiation spectrum and comment on how the choice of aircraft effects detection limits.
