Abstract
Praktični del opisuje izvedbo reintegracije večjih izgub manjkajoče pozlate brez dopolnjevanja manjkajočih plasti podloge in pozlate, temveč le z retuširanjem.

Title:Treatment of major gilding losses on a pair of wooden sculptures
Abstract:
This bachelor's thesis addresses the issues and methodology of the aesthetic reintegration of damaged gilding, using the case study of Baroque polychromed wooden putti from the Posavski muzej Brežice. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on the historical development of gilding itself, gilding in the Baroque period, the technology of gilding, as well as the most common forms of deterioration affecting the gilded surfaces. Special emphasis is placed on contemporary ethical principles of the conservation-restoration profession, particularly the principle of minimal intervention, which dictates respect for authenticity and the original despite its fragmentary state of preservation. The practical part describes the implementation of the aesthetic reintegration of major losses of missing gilding without filling the missing ground and gilding layers, but solely through retouching.
