Abstract
V magistrski nalogi se posvečam pripovedni ilustraciji ter raziskujem, kako skozi prostor, predmete in vzdušje razširja in poglablja literarno pripoved. Poudarek namenim vlogi detajlov in atmosfer ter načinu, kako lahko ilustracija z upodabljanjem vsakdanjih prizorov ustvarja občutek magičnega. Nadalje analiziram razlike med revijalno in knjižno objavo ilustracij ter izzive pri prenosu serije iz revije v knjižno obliko. V praktičnem delu predstavim nastanek ilustrirane knjige Kuhinjska miza: oblikovanje likovne govorice, zasnovo likov in prizorišča, prenos ilustracij iz revije v knjigo ter načrtovanje knjige kot sklenjene vizualne in pripovedne celote.

Title:Illustrating the Everyday in the Story Book Kuhinjska miza
Abstract:
MA thesis focuses on narrative illustration and explores ways in which it expands and deepens literary source material through the depiction of space, objects and atmosphere. Emphasis is placed on the role of detail and mood, and how illustrations that draws from everyday life can create a sense of magic. The thesis further analyses the difference between editorial and book illustration and the challenges involved in transferring illustration from a periodical context into a book form. The practical part presents the creation of the story book Kuhinjska miza: the shaping of the visual language, the design of characters and setting, the transfer of illustrations from a magazine to book, and the planning of the book as a coherent visual and narrative whole.
