The thesis addresses the preliminary design of the reconstruction of local roads in the settlement of Na Šancah in Ravne na Koroškem. The aim of the thesis is to improve traffic safety, sight distance and passability in the area of the intersection between the public paths JP350141 and JP850991 and their shared connection to the regional road R1-227/1264, as well as to redesign the hazardous individual access to the residential house at Na Šancah 1 and to introduce the currently missing pedestrian surfaces. The theoretical part presents the fundamentals of horizontal and vertical alignment, cross-section design and sight distance, as well as the theoretical basis of traffic safety through conflict point analysis. The design part presents the problems identified in the area under consideration. Based on a comparison of three possible reconstruction options for the existing intersection, the option of changing the geometry of the existing at-grade intersection was selected. This is followed by a description of the design solution, the alignment elements used, and the newly proposed traffic arrangement.
