This bachelor's thesis examines the Babno area in the Municipality of Celje. The aim of the work was to analyse in detail the existing spatial situation in the Babno district – Lava, to review the existing spatial planning conditions and to develop a new urban design featuring low-rise single-family housing (terraced houses) as an alternative to the existing municipal detailed spatial plan adopted for this area. The proposed solution, featuring terraced houses instead of the planned multi-unit residential blocks, ensures better morphological harmony with the surrounding area, enables a higher standard of living, and incorporates an efficiently designed network of footpaths and cycle routes, facilitating safer and higher-quality mobility. The proposal thus provides a starting point for formulating a different development vision for the specific area under consideration.
