The thesis compares the procedures for determining the compressive strength of piles according to the first and second generations of Eurocode 7 on the example of coastal structures in the Port of Koper. The results of the static load test of a steel tubular pile with a diameter of 812.5 mm with a closed tip from 2007 and the dynamic tests of piles with a diameter of 812.8 mm and 1016 mm with an open tip, carried out in 2024 and 2025, are discussed. The dynamically tested piles of smaller diameter are located in the area of the shore of Berth 12, while the piles of larger diameter are located in the area of the Ro-Ro pier. The theoretical part presents static and dynamic load tests and procedures for determining the characteristic, representative and design resistance of piles. In the calculation part, the test results are evaluated according to SIST EN 1997-1:2005 with the Slovenian national addition and according to the second generation documents FprEN 1997-1:2024 and prEN 1997-3:2022. In the case of dynamic tests, the impact of including an additional measurement in an individual set is also discussed. The comparison covers the calculation procedures, test results of different groups of piles and the obtained design resistances.
