The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to develop standard times for the manual clearing of forest road slopes using a chainsaw and to examine the influence of selected factors on productivity, the worker's physical workload, fuel consumption, and operating costs. The study was conducted on 28 sample plots in the Črna Forest Management Unit, Slovenia. Vegetation and terrain characteristics were recorded for each plot, and a continuous time study method was applied. The worker's heart rate was monitored, and the basic work standard and adjustment factors for specific site conditions were determined based on the recorded work times. Fuel and chain oil consumption, as well as labour costs, were also calculated. The basic efficiency amounted to 55.00 min/100 m², corresponding to approximately 34 seconds per square metre. The greatest increase in the efficiency was caused by vegetation with a stem diameter exceeding 10 cm (+48%) and vegetation higher than 3 m (+43%). The average working heart rate was 128.42 bpm, while the average relative working heart rate was 55.16%. The calculated operating cost of the chainsaw was 21.98 € per operating hour, and the cost of manual slope clearing amounted to 20.15 € per 100 m². The results provide a professional basis for planning the maintenance of forest roads and for the development of future standard times for the manual clearing of forest road slopes.
