Abstract
Sistemi pametnega doma so pogosto zaprti in vezani na oblak enega proizvajalca, kar uporabnika omeji pri izbiri naprav in ga naredi odvisnega od internetne povezave. Ta magistrska naloga predstavlja zasnovo in izvedbo odprtokodnega sistema pametnega doma, ki temelji na platformi Home Assistant, upravlja pa se prek poceni pametne ure PineTime z odprtokodno strojno-programsko opremo namesto prek telefonske aplikacije ali glasovnega pomočnika. Ura komunicira izključno prek BLE-oglaševanj z namensko prehodno napravo na osnovi ESPHome, ki sporočila premošča v Home Assistant. Za izmenjavo ukazov in podatkov je bil zasnovan kompakten serijski protokol, prilagojen omejitvam samega BLE-oglaševanja. Naloga opiše arhitekturo sistema in implementacijo na vseh treh platformah. Rezultati potrjujejo, da lahko odprtokodna pametna ura postane praktičen, vsakodnevno uporaben nadomestek za konvencionalne načine upravljanja pametnega doma.

Title:Smart home system with smartwatch control
Abstract:
Smart home systems are often closed and tied to a single vendor's cloud, limiting device choice and making the whole system dependent on an internet connection. This thesis presents the design and implementation of an open-source smart home system built around the Home Assistant platform, controlled through an inexpensive PineTime smartwatch running open-source firmware instead of a smartphone app or voice assistant. The watch communicates purely through BLE advertisements with a dedicated ESPHome-based gateway, which bridges its messages into Home Assistant. A compact binary protocol was designed for exchanging commands and data, adapted to the limitations of BLE advertisement. The thesis describes the system architecture and the implementation across all three platforms. The results confirm that an open-source smartwatch can become a practical, everyday-usable alternative to conventional ways of controlling a smart home.
