Double-accusative verbs : research data from the project

The dataset contains search queries and the corresponding (unfiltered and filtered) concordances from the corpus of written standard Slovenian Gigafida 2.2. The concordances feature Slovenian double-accusative verbs in the following syntactic configurations: an active verb form with two accusative objects (Act + 2Obj), a passive verb form with an overt subject (Pass + Subj), and a passive verb form with an overt accusative object (Pass + Obj). The aim of the research was to define the concept of direct object in Slovenian, to compare it with the definition of this concept in English, and to draw up guidelines for more appropriate tagging of direct objects in UD-annotated corpora. The data, collected in June and July 2026, form the basis for a paper on direct objects in Slovenian and English.

Abstract

Zbirka podatkov predstavlja iskalne zahteve in pripadajoče (nefiltrirane in filtrirane) konkordance iz korpusa pisne standardne slovenščine Gigafida 2.2, ki vsebujejo slovenske dvotožilniške glagole v naslednjih skladenjskih strukturah: tvorna glagolska oblika z dvema tožilniškima predmetoma (Act + 2Obj), trpna glagolska oblika z izraženim osebkom (Pass + Subj) in trpna glagolska oblika z izraženim tožilniškim predmetom (Pass + Obj). Namen raziskave je bila opredelitev pojma premi predmet v slovenščini in primerjava z opredelitvijo tega pojma v angleščini ter priprava smernic za ustreznejše označevanje premih predmetov v korpusih, ki se opirajo na shemo Universal Dependencies. Zbiranje podatkov je potekalo junija in julija 2026. Predstavljeni podatki so podlaga za znanstveni prispevek o premih predmetih v slovenščini in angleščini.
