Abstract
V praktičnem delu sem z videom beležila utrinke urbanega življenja in jih upodobila v tehniki monotipije, s katero želim preko materialnosti in razpada med odtisi vzbuditi haptični učinek in občutek minevanja. Končni izdelek je nemi strip, ki prikazuje sekvence opazovanja vsakdanjih motivov in bralca vabi k počasnejšemu opazovanju spregledanih podrobnosti vsakdana.

Title:The gaze, as a silent narative(visual storytelling in silent comics)
Abstract:
In this thesis, I explore how I can create an experience of duration and sensory observation in an experimental silent comic depicting everyday events, by departing from classical narrative structure. In the theoretical part, I examine phenomenological film theory, focusing on the concepts of embodied viewing and haptic visuality in examples of slow cinema. I look at how the principles of rhythm, repetition, pause, and duration can be transferred into the medium of comics. In the practical part, I used video to record glimpses of urban life and depicted them using the monotype technique, aiming to evoke a haptic effect and a sense of transience through the materiality and degradation across successive prints. The final result is a silent comic that presents sequences of everyday motifs, inviting the reader to a slower observation of the overlooked details of daily life.
