In bachelor's thesis, i talk about an artistic intervention that holds a title On the road without brotherhood and unity that i do in videogame Euro truck simulator 2. In the theoretical part of the thesis, i address a nart collective Total Refusal, which i later on compare to ideas and works of Situationist International. I focus on Debord's Society of the Spectacle and to the concepts of derive, detournement and psychogeography, which serve as a theoretical basis for reflecting on the potential of videogames as a space for artistic inquiry and critical engagement with contemporary society. I then examine the extent to which parallels can be drawn between the works of Total Refusal and those of the Situationists. On this basis i then study the role of mainstream videogames as an apparatus of the spectacle and compare how we percieve the medium of videogames, in comparison with other media, such as film. With that i try to get to the conclusion regarding what sort of space do videogames portray and which kind of potential do they offer within it. In the practical part of the thesis i present my concept, execution and reflection of my artistic project On the road without brotherhood and unity, in which the theoretical foundations are translated into an intervention within the virtual environment of a videogame.
