Due to the rapid development of the digital environment and increasing competition
among online stores, clear structure, intuitive navigation, efficient filtering systems,
and high-quality user experience have become key factors of successful online
sales. This diploma thesis focuses on the redesign of an online store for selling
computer components, with an emphasis on user experience, user interface, and
modern web design principles. The aim of the thesis was to examine existing online
stores in the field of computer equipment, analyse user needs and habits, and
develop a more modern, transparent, and user-friendly online store based on the
research findings.
The theoretical part presents e-commerce, user behaviour, user experience, user
interface design, wireframes, usability, and web accessibility. The experimental part
includes methods such as competitor analysis, online user surveys, user persona
creation, information architecture planning, and the development of low-fidelity (LoFi) and high-fidelity (Hi-Fi) prototypes.
Based on the user research results, an interactive prototype of a redesigned online
store was developed, featuring improved navigation, a clearer information structure,
a modern visual design, and advanced functionalities. The results of the user
experience evaluation showed that the proposed solution improves the usability of
the online store in terms of navigation, information organization, and accessibility of
functionalities, contributing to a more efficient and user-friendly online shopping
experience for computer components.
