The diploma thesis addressed website accessibility of Piran Student Club website. The aim of the thesis was to analyse the old, existing and improved versions of the website and determine which design, content-related and technical shortcomings affected accessibility, readability and user experience. The theoretical part presented web accessibility guidelines, types of user disabilities and key principles of accessible design. In the experimental part, visual and comparative analysis, an analysis of the existing website with the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool and the design of an improved prototype solution in Figma were carried out. The analysis of the old version showed
problems mainly related to an outdated visual appearance, lower readability, inconsistent contrast and a less clear content structure. The existing version was visually more modern and better adapted to the younger target group, but the WAVE analysis detected recurring errors, especially
contrast issues, missing form labels, missing alternative texts and incorrectly marked links. Based on the findings, an improved version of the website was designed, in which typography, colour palette, navigation, forms, interactive states and the organisation of documents were upgraded. It
was found that a more accessible design does not require a complete change of visual identity, but rather the systematic application of the principles of readability, contrast, clear structure and predictable interaction.
