Abstract
Lootboxi so z igrami na srečo primerljivi plačljivi mehanizmi nagrajevanja v videoigrah, označeni tudi kot plačane naključne vsebine, ki se v okviru pravnega in političnega diskurza pomanjkljivo naslavljajo. Gre za zgolj eno izmed vrste vprašljivih praks v industriji videoiger, s katerimi se bo pravo moralo soočiti. S svojim magistrskim diplomskim delom zato poskušam pojav lootboxov definirati in jih primerjati z definicijo iger na srečo, preko opisa ter uporabe koncepta družbene škode presoditi škodljivost njihovega vpliva na posameznika (in posledično družbo), in se preko pregleda obstoječih ter potencialnih možnosti ureditve spopasti z izzivi njihove pravne regulacije.

Title:Challenges of lootbox legal regulation
Abstract:
Lootboxes are paid reward mechanisms in videogames, comparable to gambling, which are inadequately addressed in legal and political discourse. Also marked as paid random content, they represent only one of many questionable practices in the videogame industry, which law has yet to face. That's why with this thesis, I will try to define the lootbox phenomenon, compare it to gambling definitions, through describing and applying the concept of social harm try to assess its harmfulness to the individual (and consequently to the society), and by reviewing existing and potential legal frameworks face the challeneges of lootbox legal regulation.
