Abstract
Emisije ogljikovega dioksida (CO2) predstavljajo enega najpomembnejših dejavnikov, ki prispevajo k povečanju koncentracije toplogrednih plinov v ozračju in intenziviranju podnebnih sprememb. Zaradi potrebe po razogljičenju ima razvoj učinkovitih tehnologij za zajem CO2 iz dimnih plinov vse večji pomen. Predmet diplomskega dela je preučevanje adsorpcije kot metode za zajemanje CO2 iz dimnih plinov, s poudarkom na mehanizmih procesa, dejavnikih, ki vplivajo na učinkovitost, in različnih vrstah adsorbentov. Obravnavane so njihove lastnosti, selektivnost in regeneracija ob upoštevanju vpliva temperature, tlaka, koncentracije in vlažnosti. Posebna pozornost je namenjena primerjavi adsorpcijskih lastnosti različnih skupin adsorbentov ter vplivu njihove strukture in obratovalnih pogojev na učinkovitost zajemanja CO₂.

Title:The influence of adsorbent properties on CO2 capture from flue gases
Abstract:
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions represent one of the most important factors contributing to the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and the intensification of climate change. Due to the need for decarbonization, the development of efficient technologies for capturing CO2 from flue gases is becoming increasingly important. The subject of this thesis is the study of adsorption as a method for capturing CO2 from flue gases, with an emphasis on process mechanisms, factors affecting efficiency, and different types of adsorbents. Their properties, selectivity, and regeneration are examined while considering the effects of temperature, pressure, concentration, and humidity. Particular attention is given to comparing the adsorption properties of different adsorbent groups and the influence of their structure and operating conditions on CO₂ capture efficiency.
