The thesis Designing a Clothing Collection Everything I Have Ever Loved presents an exploration of personal fears and emotions that individuals frequently experience yet often feel compelled to conceal. The aim of the project was to develop and produce an original clothing collection of five silhouettes that give visual form to negative feelings and fears.
The theoretical section encompasses research into fashion as a medium of emotional expression, the psychology of fear, vulnerability, and nostalgia, as well as an analysis of minimalism fashion with particular focus on the work of Prada, Helmut Lang, Issey Miyake, Céline, Calvin Klein and Jil Sander.
The experimental section details the research process, development, and production of the original collection, including a thorough description and explanation of the materials, patterns, and silhouettes employed.
The outcome of the thesis is a clothing collection titled Everything I Have Ever Loved, which, through minimalist silhouettes and considered material manipulation, gives form to negative emotions, personal fears, and emotional vulnerability.
