Abstract
Uvod: Z razvojem medicinske diagnostike se je klasična filmska radiologija v zadnjih desetletjih postopoma nadomestila z digitalnimi slikovnimi metodami. V digitalni radiografiji ločimo dva glavna pristopa: računalniško radiografijo in digitalno radiografijo, ki se razlikujeta po načinu zajema in pretvorbe rentgenskega sevanja v digitalno sliko. Namen: Namen raziskave je bil pridobiti vpogled v uporabo računalniške in digitalne radiografije v slovenskih zdravstvenih ustanovah, ugotoviti, kateri sistem je najpogosteje v uporabi, raziskati, ali radiološki inženirji zaznavajo razlike v kakovosti slik, ter opredeliti prednosti in slabosti obeh sistemov v klinični praksi. Metode dela: Uporabljen je bil kombiniran pristop, ki vključuje deskriptivno metodo s pregledom literature in kvantitativno metodo v obliki anonimnega spletnega anketnega vprašalnika, namenjenega radiološkim inženirjem. Literaturo smo črpali iz spletnih baz, kot so Google Scholar, PubMed in drugi strokovni viri. Anketni vprašalnik je bil pripravljen v programu Google Forms in poslan Združenju radioloških inženirjev Slovenije, ki ga je posredovalo svojim članom. Zbiranje podatkov je potekalo od 6. 2. 2026 do 5. 3. 2026, v tem času smo prejeli 61 odgovorov. Rezultati: Večina anketirancev (57,7 %) uporablja izključno digitalni radiografski sistem, kar potrjuje njegovo prevlado. Kar 65,4 % vprašanih ocenjuje bistveno boljšo kakovost digitalnih radiografskih slik, 30,7 % anketiranih pa kot nekoliko boljšo od računalniško radiografskih slik. Anketiranci se strinjajo, da digitalni radiografski sistem omogoča boljšo vidljivost detajlov, višjo kontrastno ločljivost in manj šuma, njegove prednosti so hitrejše preiskave, neposredna digitalizacija in možnost naknadne obdelave slik, slabosti pa višji stroški in občutljivost detektorjev. Računalniški radiografski sistem ostaja uporaben zaradi nižjih stroškov in večje fleksibilnosti, vendar ima več šuma in slabšo kakovost slike. Večina anketirancev bi za nadaljnjo uporabo priporočila digitalni radiografski sistem. Razprava in zaključek: Raziskava potrjuje, da je digitalni radiografski sistem najpogosteje uporabljen in subjektivno ocenjen kot kakovostnejši. Računalniški radiografski sistem ostaja uporaben predvsem zaradi ekonomskih in organizacijskih razlogov. Med omejitvami izpostavljamo majhen vzorec anketirancev in subjektivnost ocen. Raziskavo bi bilo smiselno razširiti na večji vzorec in vključiti tudi objektivne meritve kakovosti slik.

Title:Comparison of computed and digital radiography systems in Slovenian healthcare institutions : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: With advances in medical diagnostics, conventional film radiography has gradually been replaced by digital imaging methods in recent decades. In digital radiography, two main approaches are distinguished: computed radiography and digital radiography, which differ in their methods of image acquisition and conversion of X-ray exposure into a digital image. Purpose: The aim of the study was to gain insight into the use of computed and digital radiography in Slovenian healthcare institutions, to determine which system is most used, whether radiologic technologists perceive differences in image quality, and to identify the advantages and disadvantages of both systems in clinical practice. Methods: A mixed-methods approach was used, including a descriptive review of the literature and a quantitative survey using an anonymous questionnaire for radiologic technologists. Literature was sourced from databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and other professional resources. The questionnaire was prepared in Google Forms and distributed through the Association of Radiologic Technologists of Slovenia. Data collection took place from 6 February 2026 to 5 March 2026, during which 61 responses were received. Results: Most respondents (57.7%) exclusively use the digital radiography system, confirming its predominance. Approximately 65.4% rated the quality of digital radiographs as significantly better, and an additional 30.7% as somewhat better, compared to radiographs obtained using computed radiography. Digital radiography provides improved detail visibility, better contrast resolution, and less image noise. Its advantages include faster examinations, direct digital image acquisition, and post-processing capabilities; its disadvantages are higher cost and detector sensitivity. Computed radiography remains in use due to lower costs and greater flexibility but exhibits more noise and lower overall image quality. Most respondents would recommend the digital radiography system for continued use. Discussion and conclusion: The study confirms that the digital radiography system is the most widely used and is subjectively perceived as superior. Computed radiography continues to be used primarily for economic and organisational reasons. Limitations of the study include a small sample size and the subjective nature of the assessments. Future research should involve a larger sample and objective measurements of image quality.
